The Terma Tradition in Tibetan Buddhism
Changling Rinpoche is the Lineage Holder of the Jangter,
or “Northern Treasures.” These important teachings,
which were revealed by Rigdzin Godem in Northern Tibet during
the fourteenth cenury, are a part of the Dzogchen teachings
of the Nyingma school and, in fact, formed the main body of
practice of the famous Fifth Dalai Lama. Contained in them
are texts such as the “Prayer of Kuntuzangpo”
and the “Prayer To Guru Rinpoche In Seven Chapters”
which are used by Tibetan buddhists of all denominations.
Rinpoche is now intent on collecting the scattered texts of
this lineage in order to make it possible to study them properly
once more and to introduce them to the West. This is now the
main focus of his activity.
Rinpoche is also the Lineage Holder of the teachings of Rechungpa,
Milarepa’s famous disciple and adept and thus he combines
mastery of both the Nyingma and the Kagyu traditions.
He is able to teach in fluent English and is always ready
to answer questions on every aspect of the Dharma. His youthful
enthusiasm coupled with an amazing knowledge of the Buddha-Dharma
and a familiarity with modern ideas makes his teaching exciting
and informative for all who hear it.
This CD is a recording of his talk given at the Buddhist
Society on Wednesday 7th September 2005 and is priced at £
7.80.
