Volunteers

The Buddhist Society is a Charity and relies largely on the goodwill, donations and voluntary work of good-wishers who subscribe to the Society’s objectives of publishing and making known the principles of Buddhism and encouraging the study and practice of those principles.

As you are probably aware our resources are limited, the challenges that we are facing are many and not only of a financial nature, and our Members’ participation and support is what keep us going, it is truly the life blood of the Society.

If you feel that you have got something to offer and you can spare a few hours a week helping the Society achieve its aims, please contact :

  • Our Registrar (Louise Marchant) on 020 7834 5858 (2pm to 6pm), info@thebuddhistsociety.org

  • For the more technical tasks, you can contact the Librarian (Stuart Corner) on 020 7834 5858 (2pm to 6pm), library@thebuddhistsociety.org

Please note: Volunteers must be members of The Buddhist Society.

The following are current positions that are required:

Occasional Library / Receptionist Duty on Saturdays

The Buddhist Society is in need of Volunteers who are current members to help out in our Library and Bookstore on Saturdays between 2pm and 5pm initially to assist and then to run the Library and Bookstore by themselves on that day.

Volunteers would preferably be computer literate, familiar with library work and able to take money for the sale of books as well as having a general interest in Buddhist literature. All Volunteers need to interact with members and visitors in a friendly manner and act as a general Receptionist.

For further information please call our Librarian (Stuart Corner) on 020 7834 5858 between 2pm and 6pm Mon to Fri.
